As long as your dog is behaved…and wasn’t abused, this will eventually work. Just be patient with your dog. We have two dogs and tried the training pads but for us they never worked. We eventually just trained them to go outside and that worked fine. But the pads are supposed to work and one of our friends did have success with them. The crating thing works well because if you travel it is convenient and simple to crate them. Also if you have guests/friends over for a party i.e. new years and the dog gets scared you can crate him/her and that can be a blessing. However remember these things take time and the dog will pee in the crate from time to time. Eventually they will sleep through the night and wail till morning. Just remember patience and love.

Agree with above.
Dogs learn through repetition and reward. For the sleeping bit – put the puppy in the cage but lock it in. dogs are very releuctant to foul their beds and locking it in will prevent accidents at night or them getting into mischief. In the morning take puppy straihgt out to ta place that you have picked as its toilet spot. Put puppy down and give command “Go on” or whatever you want to use for the toilet command, but be consistent and patient. Only give command once or twice. If puppy goes then praise and cuddles, if not don’t worry and don’t tell it off. Always keep an eye on your puppy while you are trying to house train them. As soon as they make signs that they need to go(dropping their buttocks to the ground, hunching back with tail raised then pick up, pu5t outside and repeat command, if they go then reward with praise and cuddles. If they don’t go then don’t worry, take back and keep an eye on them. Repeat until they go. Dogs are dead smart and will catch on to this very quickly.
If your dog does foul (you missed the signs or ignored her) then don’t say anything, pick up, place on toilet spot and give command. They may well go again if so then praise and reward. DO NOT punish them.
The crate will become the puppy’s preferred bed, leave the door open during the day so they can go to bed if they are tired. Once they are house trained you will then be able to leave the crate open at night.
Be patient. Good luck.
